Reunion Island: Where Fire Meets the Sea - Comments Off
Unlike Madagascar, where there is a profusion of indigenous wildlife, the island gem of La Reunion, its neighbour to the south-west, has very few; one of these is the spectacular Panther chameleon, a mini-kaleidescope-coloured monster which can grow to a length of 50 cms. Lying on the crossroads between Asia and Africa, fluorescent rivers of molten lava occasionally spew out of the earth’s crust and plunge into the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean, searing everything in their path. This island –jewel, similar to Hawaii, insofar as both are located above hotspots in the earth’s crust, is between Madagascar and Mauritius. And is 63 km x 45 km. There are three volcanoes here, one extinct, swathed in forests, where mountains, gorges, and spectacular waterfalls jostle shoulder-to-shoulder, vying for one’s attention.

The Sights and Sounds of Trinidad, Cuba - Comments Off
If you’re looking to sample a slice of rural Cuban life, then a stint in a Trinidad hotel could be just the ticket. Located in the centre of the island, the city is labelled as a UNESCO world heritage site and is a hot sleepy town filled with colonial architecture and idyllic cobbled streets. Here’s everything you need to know about it, if you’re considering making a holiday in Trinidad, Cuba a “must” for your next visit to the island.
The Town Itself
The main attraction of a holiday in Trinidad is undoubtedly the town itself. Photographers will have a field day, taking advantage of the charming traditional architecture and timeless feel of the place, while others will just enjoy wandering around and soaking up the atmosphere. There are no cars allowed in the centre, adding to its charm, and visitors can take in the city’s 1211 buildings, which are mostly made up of wonderfully restored colonial houses, painted in a selection of bright colours, topped with terracotta tiles. The whole experience of walking through the town is a mixture of fairytale beauty, Latin-American vibrancy and peaceful tranquillity.
Mixed in with the pretty surroundings are a couple of notable buildings: a handful of idyllic churches, public squares and a number of informative museums each show-casing the architecture, archaeology and history of the old town. While nearly as attraction-packed as Havana, a stay in a Trinidad hotel has enough to hold your attention and allows you to enjoy your stay in a more relaxed and traditionally Caribbean manner.
The Beach
In addition to the days you can happily invest in strolling around the delicious town itself, Trinidad’s coastal location lends itself nicely to hours (or days!) spent lounging upon its undisturbed white sands. The region has two splendid beaches – Ancon and Maria Aguilar – and both of them are local to the town and some of the best on the south coast. As for what you do there, you are largely free to pursue your interests – you can relax in the sun, go swimming or enjoy some water sports. Perhaps the best way to enjoy it though is snorkelling or scuba diving, as visitors can roam amongst the wide selection of sponges, gorgonians, sea fans, black coral and various colourful tropical fish. Those wanting a premiere dive site can find many in Cuba, whilst Trinidad’s coast is a nice plus for those who want to dive as an extra, rather than as the main focus of their trip…
The Nature Reserve
Trinidad itself is set in an absolutely stunning setting, nestled between the Sierra de Escambray Mountains and gorgeous coastline. If you want to feel even more at home with nature though, the Topes de Collantes Natural Park features an impressive selection of plants and birds, set high up in the mountains. Visitors can expect to see a selection of wildlife include various colourful birds, ferns, and precious wood trees.
The Old Sugar Mills
The city of Trinidad isn’t the only historical point of interest in the area to be granted UNESCO heritage status. The Valle de los Ingenios (Valley of the Sugar Mills) is a group of three valleys that were the island’s centre for sugar production between the 18th and late 19th century. The whole area is approximately 100 square miles, and includes the sites of more than 70 former sugar mills. Many of them are now in a bad state of repair, but the region’s inherent beauty and the history contained within the area makes it well worth a look for those staying locally in one of Trinidad’s hotels.
Far from the tanned crowds of Varadero, and the (comparatively) bustling city life of Havana, a holiday in Trinidad presents a whole new example of Cuban life that many tourists miss completely. From the charming town, to the relaxed beach and the enchanting local attractions, Trinidad, Cuba, is the perfect place to stay to sample rural life on the island, and to get away from the hectic pace of life in the UK.

The Best Attractions For Family Holidays in South Africa - Comments Off
There’s no doubting that South Africa holidays make for a great break abroad. The culture is different, there’s plenty to see and do and the weather is perfect – especially when compared to the wet and cold that UK summers often present! There’s also plenty for families to do on holiday in South Africa, especially if they’re interested in wildlife. Here’s a list of some of the highlights:
Aquariums with a Twist
There are a number of aquariums for South Africa’s holiday makers to visit, but the factor that separates them from their UK counterparts is that some allow visitors to dive in some of the areas to get closer than ever before! It should be pointed out that the aquariums are understandably particular about who they allow to dive (you must have reached a certain level of qualification), but even if you have not reached that level, the sheer number of tropical fish makes the aquariums well worth a visit. The best of them are Two Oceans Aquarium (Cape Town) and Ushaka Marine World (Durban).
Gold Reef City
South Africa holidays may not be the main focus for theme park enthusiasts, but Gold Reef City (located just outside of Johannesburg) is a great choice if your kids have a hankering for rollercoasters during your trip! The rides at the park range from those aimed at smaller children (run-away train, giant wheel) through the water based drenchers (Miner’s revenge, Raging River Rapids, The River Ride) all the way up to The Anaconda – a rollercoaster full of ludicrous loops and twisting turns. Those wanting a real challenge should sample the Tower of Terror – a ninety degree vertical plunge sure to terrify those bold enough to try it…
Wildlife and Fantastic Reserves
With so many exotic animals indigenous to the continent, it’s no surprise that South African game reserves and wildlife sanctuaries are amongst the very best in the world, and have an excellent record for looking after the creatures. In particular, the Kruger National Park will provide an unforgettable experience for any visitors. Covering nearly 20,000 km2, the park contains more species of mammals than any other game reserve on the continent and is unparalleled in sheer numbers too, with over 9,000 giraffes, 3,000 hippos and 32,000 Burchell’s zebras!
If your children love monkeys (and what child doesn’t?) then Monkeyland on the Garden Route is also an absolute must. It’s a sanctuary that allows its wide selection of primates to roam free throughout the facility without cages. The thrill here for visitors therefore is to find the animals without having to rely on a map telling them where each species should be! This should be high on any South Africa family holiday itinerary.
Brilliant Beaches
It’s no surprise that, with its long coast line and excellent weather, beaches in South Africa are excellent. With so many of them to choose from, there’s something for everyone whether you’re looking for sun-soaked solitude, plentiful beach games or active water sports. There’s even whale watching, which is a great way to spend time with your children, and those old enough will doubtless want the opportunity to surf like the pros!
With one of the best climates in the world, South Africa family holidays looking to focus on the golden sands should head directly to the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Even in winter you’ll find warm sea and weather – the perfect thing for escaping those winter blues.
The truth is that a luxury holiday in South Africa can be an amazing experience no matter what your circumstances are. If your family finds wildlife, theme parks and beaches a big draw when visiting a country then South Africa makes for the perfect holiday location.
Robert Santry is a South Africa expert for key2holidays, an online tour operator specialising in luxury South Africa holidays, as well as trips to Australia, Cuba, the Caribbean, Europe, the Far East, the Maldives, Mauritius and the Seychelles, Egypt and the Arabian Gulf.
The Cote D’Azur’s 5 Best Hidden Beaches - Comments Off
Every year, drawn by the promise of gorgeous weather and beautiful beaches, thousands of travellers from the UK go on camping and mobile home holidays in the Cote d’Azur. Campsites are scattered all along the coast, and the beaches around Cannes and St Tropez are glamorous, fashionable…and usually very crowded! For many people, the hustle and bustle is very much part of the experience of camping in the Cote d’Azur, but some will crave a more secluded beach where they can relax in peace and quiet.
Fortunately, the area also contains many uninterrupted beaches for those who know how to find them or are willing to seek them out. So, if you tire of the crowds while camping in the Cote d’Azur, here are five hidden beaches to relax on…
Port de Crouton Plage
If you are going to the French Rivera with your family, why not find a Cote d’Azur campsite near this beach which is located in Juan-les-Pins. This beach is a real hidden gem, and a perfect place to go with children. The soft sand slopes very gently into the sea, making it safe for children, and the secluded location and beautiful surroundings make it just as enjoyable for adults!
Mala Plage
Despite being only ten minutes away from Monaco, Mala Plage is rarely crowded, perhaps due to the steep ten minute walk it takes to get there. It is almost child free, so it is a great place for couples looking to escape the crowds on their Cote d’Azur camping holidays. There is also a range of activities available on the beach, including jet skiing, snorkelling and diving.
Plage de Passable
The Plage de Passable, located in Villefranche bay, is an outstanding and peaceful place to swim and sunbathe. This sheltered pebble beach is popular with locals in the know, and if you are staying in a nearby Cote d’Azur campsite, you should trust their judgement! There is an excellent restaurant here, and the 4km Cap Ferrat hiking trail is a lovely walk that passes by the houses of the rich and famous who live in Villefranche.
Paloma Plage
In Cap Ferrat, the over-rich and over-trendy crowd gravitate towards the Paloma Beach Club, leaving the public beach relatively uncrowded. Take full advantage of their mistake, and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cote d’Azur – gorgeous sand, turquoise water, and breathtaking views out over the bay.
Saleccia
If you really want to beat the crowds, then try escaping the Cote d’Azur altogether – the Saleccia beach is located on the nearby island of Corsica, and it is almost completely deserted and utterly beautiful. If you are camping in the Cote d’Azur you can get to Corsica by taking a car ferry from Nice or Cannes, and the trip is well worth it – this beach really is a local highlight.
Whether you are travelling with the family or as a couple, you don’t need to fight the crowds if you want to go to the beach while camping in the Cote d’Azur – if you like peace and quiet with your sun and sand, these five secluded beaches will be just right for you.

London Apartments: Top 5 Travel Tips During Downturn! - Comments Off
Credit crunch, downturn, depression….it really is all doom and gloom everywhere you look. Seriously, you are probably considering staying at home under the bed covers every day. This is understandable in the short term, but unfortunately, it is a depressing way to live and live you must! But, there is good news amongst all this bad news. Prices have dropped in London and all companies are bending over backwards for your business. We have compiled a few tips for travellers seeking to visit London economically and have a great time.
Shop ’til you drop
Take advantage of the drop in sterling and visit London to buy your Christmas presents. At time of press the pound was 1.55 against the dollar, so if you are a traveller from the US, there is rich pickings, especially luxury goods like handbags and designer clothes. Even the sterling is dropping against the euro, so European and Middle East travellers are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding bargains. The sales have started already and it is only October.
Hotels Accommodation
Hotels are slashing prices by at least 20% so it is worth shopping around. I find Expedia.com a great directory to find all the latest hotel promotions. Also don’t be afraid to call the hotel directly and negotiate, during a downturn everything is negotiable. Many hotels offer promotions such as stay for 3 nights and pay for 2, or free breakfast with weekend stays.
London Serviced Apartments
Serviced London apartments are a really cost effective choice of accommodation, even when compared to hotel promotional rates. For example, if a 4 star hotel rate is £140 per night for a double room which works out to be £70 per person. Whilst a one bedroom apartment at the rate of £150 per night and can accommodate up to 3 people, so that is only £50 per person. You will also enjoy more space with a separate bedroom, lounge and kitchen.
For families, it is even more of a good value choice. For example, an average two bedroom apartment is £220 per night so that is £44 per person for 5 people staying.
Apart from just price, serviced apartments are better value, ensure that your group can enjoy more living space and save money by cooking your own meals.
Transport
The price of oil has dropped now to a more realistic level, so the price of flights has reflected this. When in London, it is best to open an oyster card and top up for daily travel this is much cheaper than paying by cash, in fact it is half price. Visit www.oystercard.com
Or you can purchase one day or family travel cards. Another way to save cost is using a taxi sharing service. This service is available at a taxi rank in Paddington station.
Eating out on a budget
One of the best ways to find deals in restaurants and bars in London is to search on www.toptable.co.uk. At the moment, there are 2 for 1 promotions, or hefty discounts to entice diners.
So, as you can see it is not all bad news at all. There are so many bargains this autumn/winter, travelling to London is much cheaper than ever.

Caribbean Destination Wedding Planning Tips - Comments Off
Have you decided that you want a Caribbean destination wedding, as opposed to a wedding at home? If so, you will need to make many plans. To get started, please continue reading on for a few helpful destination wedding planning tips.
Research your options. Before deciding on a destination wedding in the Caribbean, it is important to research. Of course, find affordable airline reservations and overnight accommodations, but look beyond that. For example, some all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica give you a free standard wedding ceremony. In most cases, very few restrictions are involved, such as a 5 or 7 day stay.
Make wedding plans. As previously stated, some all-inclusive Jamaica resorts give you a free wedding. If you opt for these resorts, be sure to make your plans in advance and ensure you get a picture perfect wedding, even if it is free. If you opt for a separate wedding venue, make these plans well in advance and keep up-to-date on progress and changes.
Reexamine your decision. Make sure you are making the right choice. If you change your mind, you can still use your Caribbean reservations for your honeymoon. You may, however, run into problems with guests. For that reason, reaffirm your decision to get married in the Caribbean before telling friends and family.
Tell your family. As soon as you decide on a destination wedding, tell your family. Do you have a mother who is excited about your engagement and wants to help you plan? If so, she may get started right away. Don’t give her the opportunity to be disappointed. When telling your family, know ahead of time if you want to invite guests.
Decide on a date. When deciding on a wedding date, give time. Most of your guests will want to attend, but some may need to save money first. If you want someone special to attend, such as a best friend, give them word of your plans before the official invite arrives in the mail. Also, make sure you and all guests have time to order and receive passports.
Make your travel plans. Once you decide on a date, it is important to check availability. With a large selection of Caribbean resorts to choose from, you should not have a problem getting a reservation. With that said, if you opt for a resort with a free wedding included, double check availability before providing guests with a specific date.
Decide who to invite. When planning a Caribbean wedding, you will face a tough decision in terms of guests. Who do you want to invite? Most want to keep their destination weddings small. Also, consider finances, but fairness. Not sending an invite to one aunt, but the rest because you assume she cannot afford is tricky. Send the invite and let her decide.
Inform guests. You will want to tell immediate family members in person first, but everyone else can receive a destination wedding invitation. As previously stated, destination wedding invitations should be sent at least two months in advance.
Order invitations. For the invitations themselves, you can use a standard wedding invitation or opt for a theme. Most online and local retailers have a large selection of destination wedding invitations available for sale. Announce your wedding plans with a beautiful beach scenery in the background.
Include travel information. In addition to a destination wedding invite, you should include other information. Although optional, consider giving guests information on travel. If you already booked your travel arrangements or researched options, you may know what airline reservations and Caribbean resorts have the best deals. Share this with your guests, as they will appreciate the tips.
Consider your plans. When extending Caribbean all-inclusive resort recommendations, keep your travel plans in mind. Most guests will not just travel for your wedding and leave; they will stay and have a vacation themselves. If you intend to honeymoon too, opt for a nearby hotel or resort. You want to enjoy your honeymoon, not turn around and see a family member every step you take.
Discuss at-home plans with family. Whether you have a number of guests that cannot attend your Caribbean wedding or if you don’t want to invite guests, discuss arrangements at home with your family. With Caribbean weddings, some couples do not get a big reception, but that is something that can be done later at home.
Are you ready to get started with your destination wedding planning? If so, visit SuperClubs.com today. Examine their large selection of luxury yet affordable all-inclusive beach resorts.
Is Jamaica Safe For Tourists? - Comments Off
Are you interested in planning a trip to Jamaica? If so, safety may be a concern of yours and it should be. Whenever you travel, whether it be down the street or out of the United States, safety should always be on your mind. What that said, is Jamaica safe for tourists?
When it comes to trips to Jamaica and safety, you will find varying information. Some tourists claim they wouldn’t set foot in Jamaica, while others visit annually. So, is Jamaica really a safe place for tourists? Yes. As long as you are aware of your surroundings and concerned with safety, there is not a reason why you can’t take a trip to Jamaica. In fact, it may be the greatest trip of your life.
As previously stated, it is important to be aware of safety and your surroundings wherever you travel, especially to Jamaica. But, how do you do so?
Research. Before making your Jamaica travel plans, it is important to familiarize yourself with the island. Remember, different people have different views on Jamaica and its safety. Look for unbiased information. For example, on Travel.State.Gov, you will see that Kingston is the most dangerous area for violence. So, reduce your chances of becoming a victim by opting for another destination in Jamaica. Montego Bay is not only home to an international airport, but a number of luxury all-inclusive resorts.
Stay at an all-inclusive resort. Speaking of these resorts, they come highly rated and recommended. Most consider them a tourist’s dream come true. For starters, most all-inclusive resorts include the cost of your entertainment, food, drinks, room, and tips. Not only that, but most have top-of-the-line amenities, facilities, and services. When you choose a resort that has an onsite golf course, fitness center, luxury spa, childcare center, scheduled activities, and a beach, you don’t have to leave to have a good time.
Take guided tours. Although all-inclusive resorts are designed so that you never have to leave them, you may want to get out and explore. Don’t let fear stop you, but use your best judgment. Most tourists are easy to spot. Some don’t try to hide enough and others try too hard. Regardless of where you vacation, when you look like a tourist you are more at risk for a theft crime. Instead of sightseeing by yourself, opt for a guided tour and always travel in a group.
Ask resort representatives for information. If you are looking for a good guided tour, you can use the internet to research at home. If your decision to venture outside of your all-inclusive resort is a last minute decision, speak to someone at your hotel. Most hotels partner with other local companies, including tour guides. Also, look for travel brochures in the main lobby.
Get a room with a safe and use it. Most all-inclusive Jamaica resorts come standard with an in-room safe. Not only should you request one, but use it. Never venture too far with too much money or valuable jewelry. Better yet, leave these items at home. All tourists run the risk of becoming a victim of theft, but you are less likely to be and will lose less without a large amount of cash and other valuables.
Do not drink too much alcohol. If you are of drinking age, you will love all-inclusive resorts. The cost of alcoholic drinks is already included in your stay. Some tourists develop the “I already paid for it,” mentality. This is okay, but drink in moderation. Although all-inclusive resorts are safe, you always need to be on top of your game when on a vacation. It is difficult to be aware of safety and your surroundings when you had too much to drink.
In short, yes portions of Jamaica are dangerous, but overall it is a great country to visit. It is important to remember that no place, including your own city or town, is free of crime. Protect yourself by researching Jamaica destinations, staying at an all-inclusive Jamaica resort, opting for guided tours, and leaving all valuables at home or in your in-room safe. Never let fear stand in your away from enjoying the vacation of a lifetime.
Let SuperClub.com help you plan your next trip. Examine their large selection of Jamaica hotels and Jamaica resorts.

How to Choose an All-Inclusive Caribbean Resort - Comments Off
Are you interested in traveling to the Caribbean? If so, closely examine all-inclusive resorts. Of course, you have the option of booking a stay at a traditional hotel or vacation resort, but, these days, all-inclusive is the way to go.
In the Caribbean, you will find many all-inclusive resorts. For example, the island of Jamaica has at least ten. With a number of options, you may be curious as to how you can make the right decision. To do so, there are a number of questions you should ask yourself. Such as:
Who are you traveling with? Your traveling party can impact your overnight accommodations. For example, many resorts have age restrictions. These resorts, which tend to prohibit vacationers under the age of 16 and 18, are known as adult resorts. If on a family vacation, you need a resort where individuals of all ages are welcomed. If traveling with small children, opt for family resorts, such as the StarFish resorts.
What are your reasons for traveling to the Caribbean? Your reasons for travel can also influence which all-inclusive Caribbean resort you choose. If traveling on a romantic getaway, you and your partner may want to show public affection. You can do so at adult only resorts without worrying about who is watching, like a 10 year old child. As previously stated, family resorts are best for vacations with small children. At these resorts, childcare services and prescheduled events for children are common.
What activities do you want to enjoy? For some, a vacation is the chance to sit back and relax. For others, it is the chance to try something new. Regardless of what you want to do, you should be able to find a Caribbean resort that can accommodate. Still, it is important to know what activities you want to enjoy. Do you want to enjoy a game of golf? If so, examine the Breezes resort at Montego Bay. There you will find a PGA quality course where green fees are included. If you want to enjoy beach activities, such as snorkeling, scuba diving, wind surfing, or waterskiing, opt for a luxury beachfront resort.
Do you want to sightsee? With all-inclusive Caribbean resorts and travel packages, you never have to leave. This is because you are given so much to do onsite. Whether it be a game of golf or volleyball, working out or getting a luxury massage, inclusive resorts have all you need onsite. However, if you want to venture off the resort, consider your options. Jamaica is a safe place to visit, but tourists are encouraged to visit resort communities, such as Montego Bay.
How much money do you have to spend? If you are vacationing on a budget, this is one of the first questions you should ask yourself. If on a budget, your options may be limited. Even still, don’t rule out any super-inclusive or all-inclusive resorts. You may be surprised how affordable a stay is. In terms of cost, it is also important to remember what you get. You get more than just a hotel room. All-inclusive Caribbean resorts include the cost of rooms, food, drinks, tips, and many forms of entertainment.
Do you want to get the best value for your money? In addition to looking at your Caribbean vacation budget, it is important to look at quality. Traditional hotels and vacation resorts are affordable, but consider what you get. Yes, you may gain access to an onsite swimming pool and small fitness center, but that is about it. With all-inclusive resorts, you are paired with multiple onsite restaurants, where your food, drinks, and tips are essentially prepaid for. All-inclusive Caribbean resorts give you the best value for your money.
How should I book my reservations? If you want to stay at a traditional Caribbean hotel, any online travel website will do. However, if you want to vacation in style at a Caribbean all-inclusive resort, go directly to the source. When planning a trip to the Caribbean, you want a website that will do more than let you make a purchase. At SuperClubs.com, you can browse all resorts, get travel tips, get the best travel deals and discounts, and purchase your travel arrangements.

A Pristine string of rugged coral isles, ringed by rainbow coral reefs the reserve offers living coral gardens, sculpted coves, wheeling seabirds, rare turtles, magical dugongs and an underwater world of unbelievable color, discovery and vibrancy. The Reserve is part of Lamu archipelago, a cluster of hot low-lying desert islands that run for some 60km parallel to the coastline of Northern Kenya. The last survivor of one thousand year-old civilization, Lamu was founded by the Arabs in the seventh century and traded for centuries thereafter in ivory, rhino horn and slaves. Today it offers a unique showcase for traditional Swahili culture, a bustling historical town with some of the most pristine beaches in Africa.
The Kiunga Marine National Reserve is made up of a chain of 51 coral islands lying some 2 km offshore of the fringing reef. They run adjacent to the mainland Dodori and Boni National Reserves. Varying in size, the islands are composed of old, eroded coral and shelter lesser kudu, bushbuck, monkey, porcupine and wild pig.
Reefs, the rainforest of the sea
Coral reefs are one of the most fascinating ecosystems on earth, sheltering nearly one million different types of marine life. Forming only in warm seas, corals are made by battalions of tiny polyps, miniscule sea anemone-like creatures that live together in colonies, some create a hard skeleton outside their bodies which eventually forms into stony coral. Corals come in many shapes, sizes and colours including the open-branched stag shorn coral, the pincushion-like acropora coral, the wavy-branched plate-like pavona coral, the massively solid favia coral and the convoluted brain coral.
Activity Options
Diving and Snorkeling paradise
Thw best time for snorkeling over the reefs is two hours either side of low tide, which is the time when the greatest amount of marine life is revealed. Kenyas coastal waters are warm all year round so diving without a wet suit is also rewarding.
What To See
A shifting rainbow of small fish, worms, shrimps, octopus and clams hide in the gaps while blue and yellow parrot fish use their hard beaks to chew off lumps of coral. Snappers, zebra fish, butterfly fish and scorpion-fish shimmer in the clear waters while sharks, rays, turtles and starfish prowl the reef in search of prey. Fierce moray eels hide in holes, while small crabs, wrasses(long, spiny-finned fish) and sharks lurk in the caves, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, brittle stars and numerous species of mollusk feed on algae and transparent prawns dance through the waters alongside shifting clouds of tiny demoiselle fish. The Reserves creeks and inlets also serve as a substantial breeding ground for the rare mermaid-like creature called the dugong. A completely aquatic, warm-blooded mammal, the dugong is thought to share a common ancestry with the elephant, dugong have an average length of 2.5-3.2 meters, may weigh anything from 140-170kg, and live on the marine grasses growing in the shallower waters of the Reserve.
The outer islands of the Reserve host many seabirds. Species nesting here include roseate tern, sooty gull, white-cheeked tern, bridled tern and brown node. Crab plovers are also plentiful while other migrant waders frequent the more sheltered flats and creeks.
Where To Stay
Kiwayu Island is the only inhabited island to be included in the Kiunga Marine National Reserve.
What To Take With You
Footwear(to protect your feet from the reef), T-shirt, snorkel, mask, fins, camera, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, guidebooks and plenty of drinking water.
When To Go
The Reserve is open all year round.

All Suite Beachfront Hotel on Ambergris Caye Belize - Comments Off
It can be difficult to find a quality beachfront hotel on Ambergris Caye Belize, at a price you can afford so check out the Corona del Mar Hotel & Apartments
Looking for a beachfront hotel, preferably all suite, or an apartment, and it has to be on Ambergris Caye Belize, and it has to cost under USD180, then perhaps the Corona del Mar Hotel & Apartments is the place for you.
Actually described as Corona del Mar Hotel & Apartments with Woody’s Wharf it is well known as one of Ambergris Caye’s most spacious and comfortable hotels. It has twelve rooms, and four apartments, which really are deluxe suites with masses of space.
The situation is beachfront at Woody’s Wharf which is about half a mile from San Pedro, which isn’t really a town more a quaint fishing village with bits added on, and less than a mile away is the second largest coral reef in the world. Being half a mile from San pedro gives you the advantage of some peace and quiet, but near enough to visit restaurants, do some shopping, and part if you want to.
Guests comments are always very helpful when it comes to selecting a vacation destination, and the Corona del Mar Hotel & Apartments is often described as a really good hotel, and a great price, even called a bargain.
Whilst there is no pool at the hotel, there is a swimming area at the wharf, where they have their own dock, so it may not be the best place if you have small children, but perfect to be able to swim in the Caribbean Sea for adults and older teenagers. Swimming off the wharf also means avoiding the sea grass which seems to be everywhere.
Comments always include the idyllic beachfront location, and how helpful accommodating, and friendly the staff are, which goes a long way to helping you understand why the Corona del Mar Hotel & Apartments is one of the best Ambergris Caye Hotels.
There are always remarks made about the size of the rooms, the views from the top level rooms are just fantastic, and how clean everything is kept in the accommodations. Also there are frequent remarks about how well furnished and appointed the rooms are.
Best thing of all is the fact that everyone comments on how reasonably priced it is for a beachfront hotel in such a wonderful location.
It is fair to say however, that if your ideal vacation includes, or has to have a large resort, all singing and dancing facilities, and night life in your hotel, then the Corona del Mar Hotel & Apartments wouldn’t be for you. In fact Belize probably wouldn’t be ideal at all!!
You will find the breakfasts are stunning at the edge of the dock, with beautiful views, fresh made coffee, eggs, fresh fruit, and fresh juice. There is a honour bar in the lobby, where you write down what you had, and it is then put on your room bill, and for evening eating there are two restaurants over the road, one of which will deliver pizzas, or you can get a $5 taxi into town for more choice.
There is no doubt at all if you need a beachfront hotel, and it has to be on Ambergris Caye, and your budget is slightly restricted at the moment, then you couldn’t make a better choice than the Corona del Mar Hotel & Apartments.
